Pray & Stand with Ukraine

In this time of war in Ukraine, when our hearts and the hearts of so many in that part of the world are overwhelmed, we come to You, God of all creation. Bring peace to our world, peace to Ukraine, and peace to our hearts.

Lord of the nations, of all people, the horrors of wars stand before us in graphic ways, and the hideousness of this war are disturbing today the daily lives of Ukrainian people. Fear grips for personal safety and the safety of those in harm’s way. Sorrow, groaning and anger washes over for the absurdity, cruelty of war and the losses, traumas, displacements, deaths that come with it. There is confusion, deep distress and darkness in the face of an uncertain future. You alone God, Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad, who brought order in the beginning, into chaos, light into darkness – You alone can help in these days of war. And so we pray to you, Yahweh of Armies, God with Us — come & help!

Come to the aid of nations and leaders who need your wisdom, your guidance, your truth.

Come to the aid of those standing in harm’s way.

Come to the aid of those who were called to fight for their country, homes, their families.

Come to the aid of all who need your loving, assuring and embracing presence.

Strengthen all in faith, in truth, in the authority of your peace, your Shalom, and calm the fears within—for you know and see that there are many. Help us to trust in You for lives and for the future.

Forgive us for our sins, both individual and those we commit together, especially for our failings as peacemakers, as people who are called to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with You. Forgive us for the divisions among us.  Renew our hearts, our lives, and increase our commitment and resolve to pray fervently for peace.

Protect Ukrainian people and protect us from any evil that surrounds us. Protect us all from those who in arrogance, contempt, lies, disinformation, selfish ambitions, greed, power and pride seek to bring chaos and fear, defile, destroy, oppress and kill.

Lift the hearts of the sorrowful and displaced.

Bring healing to the sick and the wounded.

Comfort the dying and the bereaved with your love.

God embrace us, increase assurance, increase our faith. Give us hope, give us peace, lasting peace

May Your Kingdom come and as we live in this coming. Fill our hearts and our minds with peace, love and wisdom so that care and compassion, watching, witnessing and accompanying will be part of our daily lives. We pray that our eyes be open to see the needs of those who struggle, who suffer, who are treated unjustly and with contempt, who are in need and that we do care and do help in ordinary, in unexpected and in extraordinary ways.

Let us pray the Lord’s prayer together, along with the Ukrainians who lift up these words:

Отче наш, що єси на небесах,
           (Our father in heaven,)

Нехай святиться Ім'я Твоє.
     (may your name be honored.)

Хай прийде Царство Твоє,     (May your kingdom come.)

нехай буде воля Твоя
Як на небі,       (May your will be done,)

так і на землі
(as in heaven, so on earth.)

Хліб наш насущний дай нам сьогодні.          (Give us today the bread we need now)

І прости нам провини наші,
(and forgive us the things we owe,)

як і ми прощаємо винуватцям нашим.           (as we forgive what was owed to us.)

І не введи нас у спокусу,                    (Don’t bring us into the great trial.)

але визволи нас від лукавого.
           (but rescue us from evil)

Бо Твоє є Царство, і сила, і слава
навіки.
(For yours is the kingdom, power and glory)

Амінь

Amen

Today Proem Ministries provided following information:

The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported, over 200,000 Ukrainians have crossed the border into Poland over the last four days. That number continues to rise as families seek refuge and join already mile-long lines which have formed at the border. Valid passports are no longer needed for entry into Poland. We are at the beginning stages of an ongoing crisis which will undoubtedly change the face of Eastern Europe for years to come.
Proem is mobilizing volunteers and assets to meet the growing need. We are preparing the Christian Center in Zakościele in anticipation of welcoming as many refugees as possible. Additionally, we are preparing beds, meals, and needed supplies in order to serve and host as many families as we are physically able to. Several Proem workers who are Ukrainian are attempting to reach and transport them into Poland. Proem is also mobilizing our supply of buses and vans to transport those who manage to reach the border.
While the logistics of coordinating these connections and preparing for the influx of refugees is at times difficult and chaotic, Proem is committed to doing our best to help as many as we can over the next days, weeks and months.

We will soon receive 100-200 orphans and families from Lviv and Kiev after Ukrainian authorities authorize their transportation. Many more individuals, families, and groups have reached out to us as they seek refuge. We will assist them in finding apartments, helping with rent, furnishings, and basic household appliances, and will provide necessary funds for them during their first weeks in Poland.

How Can You Help?
The best thing to do now is to pray for the safety of these refugees and wisdom for Proem as we help. Please pray for God’s provision through His global church.
